Outline
September Reflection and Into October
I read many great books in September, including a few that caught my interest from Bookstagram. However, I only rated one book a 5-star read, which hasn’t happened since February! Despite this fact, the rest of my books – bar one – were solidly 4-star and 3-star reads. I loved how every single one was very character-driven; even the thrillers!
The books read from my Up Next Shelf were nowhere near as high as I wanted them to be. The convenience of Kindle Unlimited is far too tempting 🙈. I need to develop a realistic reading plan that will prioritize the books I’ve already purchased.
September was the month of eARCs! I read three, and all of their reviews have been posted (as of last week).

My October Hopefuls
I’m very far behind on my monthly Hopefuls. I’m behind to the degree that I currently have fourteen books on my immediate TBR list; three of which include my October Hopefuls.
- The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin
- Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily Nagoski and Amelia Nagoski
- The Five: The Untold Lives of Women Killed by Jack the Ripper by Hallie Rubenhold
Now that it is November and there are less than two months in 2021, I’m planning on drawing from this list for my future mood reading habits. The reality of being a mood reading means that I never stick to my TBR lists, even though I find them fun to make.
