A detailed look at February’s reading habits: 26 books read, six DNFs, four books read from my Up Next Shelf, 12 new books I want to read – one I’ve already purchased – and some thoughts on how to manage my ever-growing to-be-read list!

February Reflection and Into March
I’m so excited for March – I love spring, and March means it’s right around the corner! It also helps that so many of my anticipated releases are coming out this March.
Looking back at my February reading habits, I found some anomalies: I only rated one book 5-stars, and I have never DNF’d (intentionally Did-Not-Finish) so many books in a month before. I really enjoyed being decisive about the books I didn’t want to finish. If you click on the books I DNF’d, you’ll see that I wasn’t feeling a few at the time, but I might revisit them later. Even though I only read one more book than in January, I’m happy that my books read seems to be increasing month by month. I read a total of 26 books, six of which were re-reads.
I’m still working on reading from my Up Next shelf. I think every avid reader has problems with managing their desire to buy new books and read the ones they’ve already purchased. I’m currently working on a more involved method of organizing my unread purchased books, so I know what I have in my library when I’m in a certain mood.
My goal for March is to actually stick with my monthly to-be-read list: 3-4 books I’ll read at a minimum. Once it’s put into practice, I think it’ll be a great way to work through my backlog of unread books.

Poignant and Impassioned:
My Saving Grace by Melanie Moreland
Quick Take: A poignant forbidden romance packed with some classic romance tropes: married in Vegas, grumpy Hero, employee-boss relationship and a second chance romance. The novel is riddled with angst and sweet moments and explores what it means to find The One at the exact wrong time and a Hero who will do all he can to win his girl back. Unfortunately, the plot suffers from dumb misunderstanding/mistake-syndrome which detracted from my enjoyment of the novel.
A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas
Quick Take: The 4th book in the iconic A Court of Thorns and Roses series solidifies Nesta as my favourite character; perspective is everything.
My March Hopefuls
Super awkward – of the three books I set as my minimum TBR, I only (started) reading one. I’m currently reading The Body Is Not An Apology by Sonya Renee Taylor. I did not yet get to start All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson or The Skin We’re In by Desmond Cole.
Reflecting on my February reading habits, I’m going to make sure future monthly TBR’s have one nonfiction, one fiction and one romance novel.

I am SO excited about this romance! I love how both the Heroine and Hero are super quirky and, of course, those quirks are pet peeves for the other. The book seems like it’s going to be a hilarious enemies to lovers romance.
The Dating Plan by Sara Desai
Releasing March 16th
This book incorporates my two favourite romance tropes: fake dating and marriage of convenience! I also LOVE that the Heroine in this book has a high-powered job. I was a bit apprehensive that the book had a second chance romance set-up (the Heroine and Hero might have dated in high school), but the early reviews suggest there’s not too much angst in that department.
