My Reading Progress

I had a bit of a reading binge last week! I also started another buddy read with my friend! This time around, we’re hoping to actually stick to 10 chapters a day – and so far, it’s working great! We’re reading A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer; I like the Heroine and world-building a lot, but I’m not that invested in the romance. Also included in my reading binge was A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas, and it was amazing! I’m a reader who definitely prefers character-driven books, so A Court of Silver Flames was right up my alley, but I can see how it could be a bit slow for plot-driven readers. You can read my review here.

Up Next Shelf Progress

A reminder: my Up Next Shelf is comprised of all the unread books I want to read and have purchased.

TheΒ total number of booksΒ on my Up Next Shelf hasΒ increasedΒ from 98 toΒ 103 booksΒ and myΒ books readΒ from my Up Next shelf increased toΒ 9 books.

Net Progress = Books Added – Books Read

My Net Progress increased to 11 books which means I added more books than I read last week.

The Upcoming Week

To Be Read

I’m still reading Memory Serves by Lee Maracle! It’s been one of my slowest reads in years, but I’m also enjoying taking my time while reading. I have around 10 oratories remaining, and I’m savouring them. I think I’m going to take a photo of my annotations so everyone can see how thought-provoking the book is and how it yields reflexivity.

I’m still working through my buddy reading A Curse So Dark and Lonely. I still have the following on my back-burner as well:

  • Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  • The Body Is Not An Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love by Sonya Renee Taylor
  • Men Explain Things to Me by Rebecca Solnit

To Look Forward To This Week

There aren’t any books that I’ve been watching for releasing this week! But I have a lot going on in the next few days. I’m finally posting my The Vanishing Half review and hoping to post in my Quick & Easy Review section more. I’m also posting my February Book Haul this week, which I’m so excited about! I was finally able to purchase some hardcopy books and found some great Kindle deals.
