‘Up Next’ Reading Progress

How to Be an Antiracist Progress: 36%Complete: 100%

So, I’ve spent this week basically taking a break from reviewing. The break has also given me time to catch up on my reading list! You can see in last week’s read list the Goodreads reviews. However, none of the books I’ve read have been from my Up Next list. I’m thinking of doing another revision of the list since I don’t seem to be gravitating towards those books.

I’m still currently reading How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi. In my August Wrap Up, I counted the book as part of my August reads since I started it in August. Even though the book is just 300 pages, I’m taking my time reading the book. I want to make sure my priority is internalizing and comprehending each of the chapters rather than reading the book to just finish it. It’s also exceptionally well written.

The Upcoming Week

To Be Read

All my upcoming reads for this week are the same as last week! Instead of repeating myself, you can access my (preliminary) thoughts on each book under the ‘see details’ links (above).

To Look Forward To This Week

I’m starting up my reviews again this week. I’m also considering posting a book haul this week. Originally, my plan was to include my Kindle haul as part of my August Wrap, but the post got way too long. So, keep an eye out for that post.

Something exciting about this week: the last book in the Seaside Wolf Pack series, Finding Hope, is releasing! It’s a reverse harem romance that I’ve been reading since the first book, Finding Somewhere to Belong, released in 2017.

While the Heroine is a bit of a Mary-Sue (too perfect), I like the ease of the series. It’s also a paranormal with main characters who are werewolves and fae. Also, the main point of tension is how the heroine’s new pack is challenging the oppressive patriarchal traditions within the werewolf community. You can understand why I liked it in 2017 despite the Mary-Sue heroine. Also, the romance is cute.

So, in summary, highlights of this week: potential Kindle book haul, I’m starting up book reviews again, and Finding Hope is out on September 7th (today)!
