January Reflection and Into February
In January I finally started my reading journal! I loved using it to document my thoughts and feelings of each book; it also helped me become more clear about why I was giving books their rating. Keeping a reading journal also forced me to be more intentional with my reading. I read very few books out of a need for distraction (which typically leaves me feeling annoyed and let down by the book). Going into February, I realized I need to prioritize my TBR. There are three books from January I haven’t yet gotten to which were on my January Hopefuls list.
One of my January accomplishments was reading three books that have been on my Up Next shelf for years (almost 10 for some of them!). Even better was that they were all at minimum 4-star reads, so at least they were worth the wait! I’m hoping with the plentitude of reading challenges I’m participating in and the goals I have, the number of books on my Up Next shelf will drastically dwindle in 2022.
My most read genre in January was urban fantasy. However, I’d say a majority of the books I read in January had some fantastical elements to the plot. Evidently, I was leaning towards the escapism of reality even in books 😅.

My February Hopefuls
My February TBR is 13 books because I’m hoping to complete the @book.club.bitches Winter Reading BINGO Challenge. Considering I have a lot going on regarding school and February is the shortest month, it’s unlikely all of these books will be read. However, this list is my hopefuls for a reason! I’m planning on making the following a priority:
Anticipated February Releases
Klutz: Phoenix Secrets by Sedona Ashe
Releasing February 21, 2022
Only a Monster by Vanessa Len
Releasing February 22, 2022
See my Upcoming Release page for more of the books I’m looking forward to in February!
