Last week I reviewed My Saving Grace by Melanie Moreland! It was my first featured blog review of 2021; I forgot how much I enjoy taking the time to discuss the nuances of the books I read. And, while My Saving Grace had a few pitfalls with the execution of its central conflict, I loved the Heroine, Grace. She’s so freaking awesome; she’s not afraid to be vulnerable or to stand up for herself. I can’t wait for the next books in the ABC Corp series; I wonder who’s next to get their HEA?

I completely forgot yesterday was Valentine’s Day until halfway through the 14th. Realizing the significance of the day made me wonder if my sudden uptick in re-reading HEA erotica romance subconsciously correlates to Valentine’s? I finally got around to reading Alexa Riley’s latest release: The Loyal Groom. It’s a childhood sweetheart romance that spans grade 10ish to the main character’s mid-twenties, as they navigate their Romeo and Juliette romance. It was a sweet read that set me off on a re-reading binge; I read Ringing in the New Year and Keeping Her Warm pretty soon afterward.

Of course, I’m still reading quite a few books right now. I never used to read more than one book at a time, but here I am, reading four books at once!

I’m really excited to get into Men Explain Things to Me by Rebecca Solnit. This book is what inspired the term mansplaining. It’s a compact compilation of essays on the dynamics between genders resulting in women’s silencing, demonstrating why we need feminism.

I’m also slowly working my way through:

I’m ECSTATIC that the release date of A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas is finally here; it’s releasing tomorrow! I’m planning another buddy read to get through this hefty novel (it’s 757 pages!). I definitely appreciate Nesta, and I 100% believe that if a male character acted the way she did, the whole Maas fandom would be swooning. The only thing that will drag down this book is if it’s a love triangle – we all know who are the endgame, so any introduction of an OW to create jealousy will be a plot device, which is lazy writing.
