My Reading Progress

As you can see from the list of books I’ve read this past week (above), I fell down a Lucy Darling hole of books! I recently discovered the companion novel to Forever Her Cowboy (which I read in August), Always His Cowgirl, and really enjoyed it. And, at the end of Always His Girl, Lucy talked about the Heroine, Daisy’s parents’ book, Never Let Go, which I had to read. Of course, the end of Never Let Go promoted another book, Never Been Kissed, where the couple is the parents to Eric, the Hero in Always His Cowgirl. If that sounds complicated, here’s the breakdown:

The point is that I basically consumed this series of novella-length sweet romances! 😅

I finished two novels this week from my Up Next shelf: Searching for Sylvie Lee by Jean Kwok and The Secret Women by Sheila Williams (see my review here). I seriously enjoyed both books! My review of Searching for Sylvie Lee will be posted soon.

The Upcoming Week

To Be Read

I’m still working my way through How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi and Me and White Supremacy by Layla F. Saad. Obviously, it takes me way longer to read nonfiction books, which isn’t a bad thing.

I’ve also started reading If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha! I’m definitely in a ‘character-driven stories’ reading streak right now, which is fine with me because it’s one of my favourite books. You can click here to see the details of If I Had Your Face.

To Look Forward To This Week

I’m reading (and reviewing) my eARC of Winter of the Wolf this week! I’ve been feeling the need to read a YA novel these past few days, so I’m really excited to start this book.

I’m so excited to say that I’ve received an eARC to Melanie Moreland’s next book, Heart Strings! I LOVED her last book, Revved to the Maxx, as you can see in my review (here). I’ll also be reading Heart Strings this week! Its tropes include opposites attract, music and family drama! Heart Strings comes out on October 12, 2020, so you can pre-order it now.
