My Reading Progress

My light and fluffy romance trend continued into the last week of November. However, I read a really good erotica romance, Act Your Age by Eve Dangerfield, that took a very introspective to a certain kink (read the Trigger Warnings in my review). It was a refreshing take on this kind of romance.

The books I read by MINK and Alexa Riley were also entertaining. Both had a bit of romantic suspense thrown into their plots which added some fun adventure to the sweet and steamy romances. I particularly enjoyed revisiting the Hollow Oaks series in Alexa Riley’s The Winter Bride.

I also finally posted My Hiemal Book Haul which unpacks the 14 books I purchased and haven’t read since August!

Up Next Shelf Progress

The Upcoming Week

To Be Read

The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton is another book that has been pushed to the top of my TBR because of school. Despite my love of historical romance, I struggle with books that were actually published in the 19th or early 20th-century. However, I discovered that if I focus on annotations and the themes I’m looking for, the reading experience becomes more enjoyable.

I came across a Goodreads review that pointed out the similarities in themes and takeaways between The House of Mirth and The Great Gatsby. The reviewer posits The House of Mirth isn’t as popular nor regarded as well as The Great Gatsby because it has feminist undertones and was written by a woman. I am excited to see if I come to the same conclusion.

The epilogue novella in the Steel Demons MC series releases tomorrow! I had the pleasure of receiving an advance copy and plan to post my review next week. It was everything I imagined. I’m so glad Crystal decided to show her readers what a HEA for Mariposa and her men looks like so many years after the war.

If you stick with the eight-book series, I highly recommend checking out Endless.
