Kate has given up on love – at least for herself. When Kate launches her own matchmaking company, Kinnection, with her two best friends in a cozy New York town, she has to put aside her own romantic disasters to make her business a success.
But when a furious man stalks into her office and accuses her business of being a scam, Kate is given the ultimate challenge to prove herself. When I found out that there was a spin-off of the Marriage to the Billionaire series, I was so happy! That series has been and is amazing … I just wanted to have a story dedicated to Wolf … and now it seems I might!
This story … honestly, I loved how both series’ have a magical realism spin: the spellbook is back! The spellbook that was first featured in the first book in the Marriage to the Billionaire series, The Marriage Bargain. And you can purchase the spellbook on Amazon for under $1.99, called The Book of Spells, and it’s accompanied by a short story featuring Alexa and Nick!
Now back to Searching For Someday. I have to say that although I was really excited and I did love the overall concept … obviously, something wasn’t right since I rated it 3.5 stars.
So, I have never been a fan of either second chance romances (too much angst and it’s so frustrating), or the heroine is a match-maker because the heroine continues to set up her love-interest with other people. Um, sorry, what? Yeah. That was on repeat throughout the whole. freaking. book. And my frustrations just continued to rise.
Honestly.
And then, when that magical confession does occur, the hero is too much of an ass and emotionally immature to understand the depth of his feelings–at over thirty years old.
Okay.
So you see. I like the idea of this series. I love the idea of Kate being able to sense romantic connections. But Kate and Slade’s romance didn’t seem as strong as it could be.
What I think saved a lot of the book for me was the sub-plot with Genevieve and her Dr. McDreamy and Wolf and her twin sister, Isabella.
And what happened to Isabella? Seriously?
So, I think that’s what’s going to drive me to read and finish this series. Sorry, Kate.
But also the next book, Searching for Perfect, happens to be Kate’s business partner, Kennedy Ashe. The very flirty and beautiful fashion and PR diva in Kinnections. And what I’m expecting to love about this book is that the hero is a genius nerd … and very geek. But by the time Ken is done with him, he’ll be sexy smart.
