Synopsis
Liam Callaghan is happy with the way things are.
He has a successful business, a family he loves, and a life he thinks is fulfilling and complete.
Until a favor for his brother brings him to her.
She sparks something inside him. Something he had no idea he was missing.

She and her daughter become his focus. His world.
He only has to convince her to believe in them.

Liam entered Paige’s life quietly, but from the moment he took her hand, her world exploded.
Larger-than-life, he stepped in, brightening her days and filling her with happiness.
But she has more than her own heart on the line.
Her daughter, Lucy, has to come first.
As much as her soul yearns for him, can she trust his words?
Can the seeds love plants take root and bloom, growing over the past?
If Liam has anything to do with it, they will.

Author Note: You have read their story as told through Ronan and Beth in FINDING RONAN’S HEART. But readers have asked to see it through the character’s eyes – and my characters agreed. This is a companion novel to be enjoyed with Vested Interest: ABC Corp Book 2.

•••

Loved by Liam is a companion novel to Finding Ronan’s Heart (read my review), the 2nd book in the ABC Corp series. Therefore, the romance between the main characters of Loved by Liam also plays out in Ronan’s book. However, Melanie received a barrage of requests from readers wanting Liam and Paige’s story, and Loved by Liam was born! I knew while reading Finding Ronan’s Heart that I wanted to read a book dedicated to Liam and Paige; Liam is the kind of Hero that I always love reading about, he was incredibly confident about his feelings for Paige. Their romance was as straightforward as it appeared in Finding Ronan’s Heart.

After Paige’s roommate, Beth starts dating Ronan, Paige is introduced to his brother, Liam. Instant sparks ensue. But Paige’s ex-husband has left psychological scars from ableism directed towards their child and years of verbal abuse.

Found family

Part of why I enjoy the ABC Corp series so much is its emphasis on family. However, I was excited about the emphasis on found family in Loved by Liam. The friendship between Paige and Beth and the support they gave each other while raising Paige’s daughter and Beth’s younger brother was so nice to read about. I love books that acknowledge the importance of true friendship – people need to have others outside their partners for support.

Even though Liam comes from a huge family, the found family theme is still relevant. His father and his father’s best friends created a found family in Moreland’s previous series Vested Interest. The theme continued in how accepting Liam’s family towards Paige and how they go out of their way to accept Piage and her daughter, Lucy, into their family. Their support and love elevated Loved by Liam from a sweet romance to an indulgently sweet romance 😊.

Sweet Romance

The romance between Paige and Liam was simply adorable. I loved how sure of each other they were. While Liam was the main pursuer, Paige didn’t let her reservations from her past relationship get in the way of her feelings for Liam. I also liked reading the progression of Paige and Liam’s relationship. In Finding Ronan’s Heart, we didn’t get the particularities. The scenes that affirmed their feelings but also Liam’s commitment to being a father-figure to Lucy was the best.

In Conclusion

One of the reasons Loved by Liam wasn’t a 4-star read for me was because of my mood at the time. I was so excited to read Liam and Paige’s story but wasn’t 100% feeling the sweet romance genre. Also, I think it’s important to understand that Loved by Liam is a companion novel to Finding Ronan’s Heart, meaning that the book does include repetitive content/scenes. I think to enjoy Loved by Liam it’s best to let a bit of time pass before delving into it if you’ve just finished Finding Ronan’s Heart.

If you love sweet-AF romances with single-parents and found family themes, Loved by Liam should be your next romance read!

Other Books I’ve Reviewed by Melanie Moreland

My Saving Grace (ABC Corp, #1)

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Quick Take: A poignant forbidden romance packed with some classic romance tropes: married in Vegas, grumpy Hero, employee-boss relationship and a second chance romance. The novel is riddled with angst and sweet moments and explores what it means to find The One at the exact wrong time and a Hero who will do all he can to win his girl back. Unfortunately, the plot suffers from dumb misunderstanding/mistake-syndrome which detracted from my enjoyment of the novel.

Synopsis
It’s time for the next generation of Vested Interest to find their Happily Ever Afters.

Grace VanRyan has her life mapped out. Law school, a career with ABC, and a bright future ahead of her.

Until Jaxson Richards steps into the picture. He’s everything she hasn’t planned for. Older, sexy, off-limits.

And her new boss.

When the passion between them explodes, will her life blow up along with it?

Finding Ronan’s Heart (ABC Corp, #2)

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Quick Take: A delightful and loving story that explores independence, (found) family and meaningful connection. Yet, it falls short of 5-stars for its repetitive scenes and lack of depth in its climactic reveal.

Synopsis
“The boys.”
“The Callaghan Triplets.”
“Three of a kind.”

All his life, Ronan Callaghan has been part of a group. Always looking out for his brothers. Never seen as an individual or judged on his own merits.
When his brothers veer onto their own path, he finds himself alone. Restless.
Then he meets her.
Beth.
A waitress who sees him just for himself. None of the trappings of his wealth or family.
A woman who only wants to know him—Ronan.

She captures his heart, but how will she feel when she discovers the truth he’s holding back?
Can he show her the man he really is?
That he would be rather be hers than anything else?

Age of Ava (ABC Corp, #4)

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Quick Take: A moving and intimate opposites-attract romance with a perfectly grumpy Hero and badass Heroine that explores family and the benefits of vulnerability.

Synopsis
AVA CALLAGHAN
A woman working in a male-dominated field.
Organized, strong, and tenacious.
That’s how she has to be to succeed.

HUNTER OWENS
A loner.
He needs no one, has no ties, and his future is an unanswered question mark.
It’s all he knows.
Until the day their lives intersect.

He sees the woman she hides from the world.
She nurtures the part of him he lost long ago.
But they both agree—their connection is temporary.
They are only for now.

Can their stubborn natures allow them to bend and accept that maybe, just maybe, there is more to life than they believed?
That love can heal.
That happiness can exist.
That for now can be forever.
