My Reading Progress
This is my last Weekly Wrap including the books I read in 2021! I had a few essays due so I only read three books (and DNF’d four).
I really enjoyed When the Stars Go Dark by Paula McLain. I loved how it was a combination of character introspection, thrilling mystery and criminal profiling. I especially loved how the criminal mystery felt reminicisent of Criminal Minds. However, you should read the content warnings before starting as the material is quite dark.
I’m re-reading the Elemental Paladins series in honour of it being released as a complete boxset. I loved all the bonus material and was reminded why it’s a comfort-series for me.

To Be Read
The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson was the last book I wanted to read in 2021. I started the book last week but because I was so busy with my assignments, I wasn’t able to finish it before the new year.
So far, I’m enjoying the world-building and after an early plot twist, I’m excited to see where the plot is heading. I never would have thought sci-fi would be the genre that I would gravitate to in 2021. But, so far I’m liking all the sci-fi books (and romances!) I’ve picked out.
To Look Forward To This Week
The Maid by Nita Prose was released on January 4th and is a whodunnit, locked-room mystery (á la Clue). The mystery/thriller genre is a genre that has piqued my interest in the latter half of 2021. I enjoy the fast pace of the books and character studies.
In the coming days (and into next week) I’m going to be posting my 2021 Wrap-Ups! I’m looking forward to seeing what trends are evident in my reading stats.
